Haldwani violence incident not communal: Compensation to be recovered from rioters
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announces that Rioters will be made to pay for compensation. More than 60 police personnel injured, 100+ vehicles set on fire. All schools remained closed in Haldwani. Internet Services shut. Central Forces have also taken charge.
In a sensational revelation by Haldwani DM that, the rioters were well prepared for the attack. They had planned that they'll attack police when they come to remove illegal encroachment. And we all saw how they didn't even spare female police officers, even tried to burn them alive.
Nainital District Magistrate Vandana Singh expressing deep concern over the Haldwani violence incident, termed the incident unfortunate and assured that the accused will be identified and strict action will be taken against them.
Promising that the accused would be identified and faced with severe consequences, Singh emphasized that the incident was not a communal one and asked everyone to avoid turning it into a sensitive or communal matter. She made it clear that the retaliation did not involve any specific community.
“The police station has been completely damaged by the mob…This is an unfortunate incident. The accused will be identified, and strict action will be taken. This (incident) was not communal. I request everybody not to make it communal or sensitive. Any particular community did not retaliate…This was an effort to challenge the state machinery, state govt and the law and order situation,” she said.
